Mission
Locate, purchase, develop and operate a permanent rugby facility in Central Texas to promote and grow the sport of rugby, provide alternatives to local youth through the sport, and create a platform for the rugby community to further charitable endeavors.
Who is the Foundation
The Rugby Foundation was founded by and its board comprised of present and former Huns RFC members. It was formed to provide the vehicle to develop and operate a rugby playing facility for the Central Texas rugby community and to promote the mission of the Foundation. The Foundation was incorporated in the State of Texas on May 5, 2000.
The Rugby Foundation is exempt from federal income tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and a Public charity under section 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to the Rugby Foundation are deductible under section 170 (b)(1)(A)(vi) of the code, and the Foundation is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers and gifts under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Internal Revenue Code.
Foundation Vision for Current Land proposal:
• Provide a permanent and appropriate rugby facility
to practice, play games and host events.
• Provide for the expansion of the sport of rugby,
especially through youth programs.
• Allow for the development of players from beginner to
the premier and senior levels.
• Allow the Foundation and host team a venue to
further charitable efforts/functions.
• Host training/referee/coaching clinics.
• Promote the sport of rugby as entertainment and
a spectator sport.
• Obtain positive exposure for this effort for the Rugby
Foundation and “host” team(s).
• Provide a template for developing projects like this to
other national teams/organizations.
• Be good neighbors.
Vision of the Facility:
• 2 lighted, regulation size rugby pitches and
viewing stands.
• club house with showers/change rooms, refreshment
center and lounge
• parking
• playscape
• preserve the natural environment and include a
nature walk
• build “green”
• Allow the flexibility to host and play games on days
and nights other than the weekend.
